Haven't done anything, except installing Adobe Reader (from SBo) on one of the machines (the one I have now access to and the one the screenshot shows). The other one runs a still pristine MLED; I'll check it later and will update this post if I find a difference.

EDIT: I have checked now and can confirm that the about:plugins page in Firefox is the same on the pristine MLED 14.1 system.

Note: the latest brasero upgrade (3.11.3) doesn't work -- I get the following error:

Code:
brasero: error while loading shared libraries: libgstpbutils-1.0.so.0: cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory
... unless I install also the newly added gst* packages.

It would be nice to point at such dependencies in the ChangeLog.

Ooops. Sorry. I took this for granted, but I should have explained this in more detail. On the other hand, the old Brasero was a bit buggy, and the upgraded version seems to work perfectly.

No worries! After upgrading brasero (I must admit that I haven't used it so far, so I am not aware of the problems you mention) I was wondering if I need all the new gst* packages, but after trial-and-error I found out that these were needed indeed

A cosmetic glitch: the tooltips for the two workspaces in XFCE are in English *and* French. So the tooltip for the current one says 'Current workspace: "Espace de travail 1"', while for the the inactive it is 'Click to switch to "Espace de travail 2"'.

How can I make these to be consistently in English?

Thanks for the bug report. Though I guess to solve this, I have to take a dive in ~/.config and edit things by hand.

Which file in in ~/.config should I edit to correct this?

I wasn't aware that MLED already shipped pysetuptools and I installed a newer version of it as a dependency for another package from SBo. Now slackpkg upgrade-all says that:

Code:
Checking local integrity... DONE
You have a broken /var/log/packages - with two versions of the same package.
The list of packages duplicated in your machine are shown below, but don't
worry about this list - when you select your action, slackpkg will show a
better list:

pysetuptools-0.9.8-i486-1_microlinux
pysetuptools-2.1-i486-1_SBo

You can (B)lacklist, (R)emove, or (I)gnore these packages.
Select your action (B/R/I):
What would the recommended action be in such a case?

Use removepkg to remove the one you don't want to keep, then reinstall the other one if need be.

Keep the newest unless you need SimpleParse.

PS It's not a bad habit to take notes, such as why you need a package (e.g. as a dependency of another one), and to have a look at the ChangeLog.

In fact I am more inclined to keep the package provided by MLED (the one tagged "microlinix") for consistency. The fact that led me to seek a more experienced opinion was the significant difference in versions, i.e. 0.9.8 vs 2.1... I hoped to get niki's point of view about what the "official" solution would be, so until he jumps in with his recommendation I'll remove the newer package and keep fingers crossed

Now that an update to 11.2.202.346 is already out -- is a security fix for flashplayer-plugin-11.2.202.327-i386-1_microlinux planned?

... Or you can just upgrade Niki's package as he provides all you need to build 2.1.
